1948 Buick Streamliner by Norman E. Timbs
Curves like these inspire poetry. The 1948 Buick Streamliner by Norman E. Timbs is a muse in the world of classic cars, an automobile from a time when curvy was most desirable in the eyes of men. Looking at a car like this makes one lament the slim, simple direction human attraction has gone, when the cars and cover girls leave plenty to be desired in the most important aesthetic quality– shape. This classic Buick Streamliner is in pristine condition, restored by Dave Crouse for the 2010 Concours d’Elegance. Its original construction took over two years, built with an aluminum body around a steel chassis. Not only is it unlikely you’ll ever see this beauty on the road, it’s likely that you’ll never see it on the auction block. A car like this is far too rare, too beautiful that any owner could ever want to pass it up– no matter the price.

The Real Metal Gear
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is a tale of giant robots and Cold War drama. It may be fantasy, but did you know that in the early 1960s, the US military actually had a giant robot? Meet the "Beetle". Built by Jered Industries in Detroit for General Electric's ominous — and very Metal Gear-sounding — Nuclear Materials and Propulsion Operation division, the Beetle was a mechanical terror designed for the Air Force Special Weapons Centre, initially to service and maintain a planned fleet of atomic-powered Air Force bombers. According to declassified Air Force reports, work began on the "mech" in 1959, and it was completed in 1961.

Ferrari 360 Owner Takes Hello Kitty Love to Nauseating Extremes
This is by far the most tasteless (...and blasphemous) attempt to personalize a Ferrari supercar we have ever laid on eyes on. And if you think that the 'Hello Kitty' decals and logos on the windows, mirror covers, engine-lid and license plate holder as well as the customized exhaust tips are revolting, just wait until you see what the owner of this Ferrari 360 Modena, which was spotted in Jakarta, Indonesia, did to the supercar's interior... Hit the jump and get ready to weep.

Dogs Emergency Operation After It Swallows Five Toy Cats
When Snowy the West Highland terrier became ill and stopped eating, her worried owners took her to the vet. But a new diet, medical tests and even antibiotics failed to perk up the little dog. It was only when the one-year-old had an X-ray that it became obvious she had fallen victim to a dog's traditional enemy - cats. Snowy had swallowed five plastic toy cats. The biggest was two inches tall and an inch wide and showed up clearly, and rather spookily, on the X-ray.
